At the heart of the ensemble is a shared love of discovery and connection through music. Our programmes are crafted to be both creative and engaging, pairing fresh interpretations of much-loved classics with hidden gems and exciting new compositions. While our core formation features piano and strings, we love the freedom to expand and collaborate to allow for diverse repertoire that includes wind, brass, percussion, and voice.
Founded by acclaimed pianist David Quigley, the Cecilia Ensemble brings together some of the UK’s most passionate and highly regarded musicians.

The Cecilia Ensemble is proud to be appointed as Associate Ensemble of the University of Birmingham, where we look forward to inspiring and supporting the next generation of musicians through chamber music coaching and workshops with composition students.
Our inaugural concert takes place at Elgar Hall, University of Birmingham, on January 16th, 2026. We look forward to sharing some of the finest chamber music with audiences across the UK in our 2026/2027 season and beyond.
